BIOGRAPHY
Milly Tabak, best known as the magnetic frontwoman of The Miltones, steps into the spotlight with a solo project that blends the sultry swagger of blues- rock with the warmth and nostalgia of a vintage vinyl collection. She brings a gentle touch of Americana to her songwriting, shaped by a love of storytelling and folk music.
Milly’s track record is formidable. With The Miltones, she’s opened for legends like Nathaniel Rateliff, Mick Fleetwood, and Bryan Ferry, and toured alongside the Teskey Brothers and Tami Neilson. Now she is stepping forward with a new sound that weaves together folk, country, and her signature soulful roots.
Tabak has a two albums under her belt including the award winning self-titled debut album The Miltones (Taite Music Award Best Independent Debut Album 2017) and more recently a sophomore album Honest Woman (2020) which was recorded live at Auckland’s Roundhead Studios.
“Like the great soul and country songwriters, Milly’s songs combine the economy of poetry with the rawness of real feelings.” - Radio New Zealand
“From the moment she arrived, Tabak had the stage presence of someone permanently amused by the fact of being on stage: engaging, funny, restless, and so full of energy that the audience barely had time to think before being pulled along with her.” - 13th Floor
